Varifocals: What to Expect
If you’re new to varifocals, it can take a little time to adjust. That’s normal.
They work by gradually changing power across the lens, which means your peripheral vision may feel different at first.
Tips for adjusting:
-
Try not to switch between your old and new specs – consistency helps!
-
When you get home, take a moment to sit with a book, tablet or TV and practise using the different zones.
-
Drop your eyes slightly to focus on near/intermediate distances.
-
Look straight ahead for distance.
