Terms & Conditions of Purchase – Daxie Eyewear

Please take a moment to read through these Terms and Conditions. By placing an order with Daxie Eyewear — whether online, by email, or at one of our pop-ups — you’re agreeing to the terms below.

We’ve kept things as clear and fair as possible, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

1. About Us

Daxie Eyewear is run by Natalie and Lin — dispensing opticians with decades of experience. We specialise in bold, playful frames and expert reglazing of new and vintage glasses. We are not optometrists and do not carry out eye tests, but we’re very happy to work with your existing prescription.

2. Ordering From Us

You can order:

  • New prescription glasses from our own frame range

  • Reglazing services for your existing frames

  • Bespoke lens fitting for vintage, costume, or complex items

All prescription orders require a valid and in-date prescription from a registered optometrist or optician. By placing an order, you confirm this information is accurate and up to date.

We reserve the right to contact your optician to verify prescription details if needed.

3. Bespoke Work & Reglazing

Once lenses have been cut and fitted, your glasses are considered bespoke and cannot be refunded simply because you’ve changed your mind.

However:

  • If we’ve made a mistake with your prescription or lenses, we will replace them at no cost to you.

  • If the prescription provided to us turns out to be incorrect, we will remake the lenses free of charge using an updated prescription (but we cannot refund the original order).

  • We do not offer eye tests — prescriptions must be provided by you.

4. Damage or Faults

If your glasses arrive damaged, or if there’s a fault with the lenses or frames that we supplied, please let us know within 14 days. We’ll assess the issue and either repair, replace, or refund as appropriate.

We inspect all frames carefully before reglazing, but we cannot be held responsible for pre-existing wear, weaknesses, or damage to customer-supplied frames.

5. Payment & Pricing

All prices are shown in GBP and include VAT. Payment is taken at the time of order unless otherwise agreed. We accept major cards and payment via approved platforms.

Quotes for reglazing are valid for 14 days from issue.

6. Delivery

We offer UK-wide delivery using tracked services. You’ll receive confirmation when your glasses are on their way. While we aim to dispatch within 14 days, turnaround may vary depending on prescription complexity. Please get in touch if you need something sooner.

7. Returns & Refunds

Because each order is made to measure, refunds are only offered if:

  • We’ve sent you the wrong lenses or prescription

  • Your order arrives damaged

  • Your frames cannot be reglazed and we’ve not yet begun the work

To request a return, please email us at hurstiwear@gmail.com within 14 days of receiving your glasses.

8. Customer-Supplied Frames

We love working with your own frames — vintage, designer, or something unusual. But please be aware:

  • We reglaze at your own risk.

  • Some frames, especially vintage ones, may crack or become unstable during the glazing process.

  • We’ll always assess and advise you before starting, but we can’t guarantee outcomes on fragile or aged frames.

9. Your Information

10. Legal Bits

Daxie Eyewear operates under UK law. Your statutory rights are not affected. We are a proudly independent, small business, and we’ll always do our best to make things right.
